90/365 A Good Day

Yesterday really sucked. It was just one of those days where things went bad and I don't even know why or how, they just did. It seemed like everything I did to try to fix it or understand it made it worse, so I went to bed feeling very down.

After that it was pretty darn important to me that today be good. Fearing it wouldn't be I cancelled an early morning chance to see what may be the cutest puppy in the world (fingers crossed that opportunity will be mine again, and soon!) and the truth is this morning wasn't the best. I was letting all the little things get to me, and probably the biggest little thing was I went through 5 shirts before I found one without a spot. Seriously, WTF. I swear they did not go in the washer like that. Grr. Anyway, I was trying to get dressed for a lunch date with someone I've never met before so that was not making me happy. I pushed through all my negativity and went and had a great time! The fact I was wearing a shirt that was #6 on my preferred list meant nothing at all. Imagine that.

After I returned from my lunch with Jessie Vaughn asked if I felt like going to Pensacola with him. We did the things we needed to do and also made a stop at World Market on a whim. I actually was hoping they had this but didn't imagine I'd be fortunate enough to find it. The last one in the store was mine! Victory!

So yay for good days complete with a treat. Wish we all had more of them.

86/365 The Unexpected

We hopped in the car and went on one of our unplanned drives today. Characteristic of these are lots of talking and joking, and a few surprises along the way. This day did not disappoint.

Driving a rural road we came across this stunning field, and I did my best to capture it with the p&s I always carry.

While there I took the opportunity to try to get a decent picture of the beautiful Bradford Pear blossoms in the parking lot. Actually I'm not sure these are Bradford Pear, but until someone tells me different I'm going with it.

82/365 Pizza

The only way the L will eat it is with just cheese. G has grown adventurous since seeing his classmates chosing other things and now will embrace pepperoni and ham, but this is still his favorite, too. And like their momma, they both don't like a lot of sauce. Poor V.

81/365 Lunch with Janel

It's always a treat to spend time with such a good friend. And the food at Famous Dave's was extra yummy today! Too bad my picture does it do it justice.

79/365 Craving

Not mine, my mother's. She's sick, and miserable, and said she wished we had one of these in the freezer. A quick trip to the store and she now gets to choose. Wish granted!

Our camellia bush is filled with blooms, and this one came to me this afternoon in the hands of my oldest. It looks like someone went wild with the clone tool.

L pulled 3 chairs into the kitchen, one for Daddy, one for Momma, and one for Granny, then he proceeded to give a concert with his pink, inflatable, from the treasure box, guitar.

Then he decided he was going to grow a tree, so he dug a hole and planted a recently cut branch and made sure it had water.

70/365 Singing

Warm, lots of rain the night before with more coming tonight, and the frogs are singing loud and strong.

69/365 Spring Pics

L's came in. They send them all home with us and we bring back what we don't buy, which I like vs the system at G's school where you pay for them without ever seeing them.

The cap and gown one made me cry because my baby isn't a baby anymore. I'm going to be a mess at the actual pre-k graduation.

68/365 Sick

Got a call this morning that G was in the clinic feeling sick so I headed that way and ended up bringing him home. He definitely wasn't feeling 100% but in hindsight I think he probably was well enough to stay. We'll see how tonight and tomorrow goes.

He did get some homework done, but the day held lots of this

65/365 Productive, Sunny, Saturday

First Saturday of the month means Home Depot Kid's Workshop, and today they made rain gauges. V said it was one of the easier projects they've done, which I'm sure was nice for him with he usually ends up doing most of the work for L.

After they were home we all went for a walk at the cemetery. The weather has been fantastic, with the temps in the mid 60s and no humidity. The boys started off complaining that walking was boring, and then they whined they were tired. One dramatically threw up his hands and wailed "But it's so far!" (insert huge eye-roll here) When I suggested they take some of the inner dirt roads to see if they could beat us suddenly everything was different. Off they ran, where moments before even walking was too much to bear! And they ran, and ran some more, laughing that they were faster than us. My kids, if it's not fun it's not worth doing.

63/365 Another Infed Infusion

Thankfully there was no crazy long wait to see the doctor today, so everything went much smoother. In at 11:20am, out at 3:50pm, and only one stick this time. I had Toni again, and she doesn't freak out over my difficult veins, she doesn't freak when she unintentionally hurts me, she just gets the job done. I like that. Anytime someone sticks me with a needle and I see blood it's a cause for celebration. The only thing she did I didn't like was try to scold V for not holding my hand. I told her no, he knows what he's doing. I have my own little things I do to handle things I don't like and that might hurt, and that doesn't involve someone holding my hand.

There was a brownie, candle, and a happy birthday song, and a brownie, candle, and a happy last chemo day song. The woman who was having last chemo day had her husband take a ton of pictures for her caringbridge page, which made me feel okay about pulling out my own camera and taking a couple of pictures. Much better than the crappy cell phone.

See, crappy cell phone! Told you. Here it is with the other things keeping me company during all that stuck in the chair time. It feels like I'm never going to finish this book, it is an insanely easy read but there is nothing there that makes me want to keep reading. The DS is for Brain Age games, but I do terrible when I am in a place where people are talking, and there is the noise of a TV, so I don't know why I bother bringing it with me.

Okay, I admit it, the really good stuff is the Benadryl because I love that floaty feeling when it hits. Yes, the cell camera did get used.

I go back in 3 weeks and see where I'm at, with another to follow unless my numbers are just stellar.

62/365 Not Happy

Despite the unappetizing look of the white cheese melted on the patty, and maybe because of the shocking amount of bacon, this tasted fantastic. Heart attack on a bun.
