30/365 Gulfarium
January and half-price for locals was quickly running out so today we went despite the chill in the air. We grabbed a half-price yearly membership, saw a few displays, caught one show, and then we were so frozen we were done. Next time we go the day will be warmer and the good camera will be in hand.

29/365 Big, fat fail.
28/365 When I was a young'un things were simpler
Gus constantly has things he has to make or do for school, and next year Lucian will join in the fun!
This isn't food, it's the stuff of school projects.

21/365 It's Lucian's Day
It started with a field trip where all the kids sang at a nursing home. Lucian was thrilled to ride the bus again,
and he did not like all those old people starring at him and after singing part of the first song he just stood there the rest of the performance. He wasn't as bad as the the little boy who spent most of the program in the teachers arms, but he definitely wasn't happy. I always looked forward to these with Gus and it always turned out about the same. My boys are not performers!
This evening out riding their bikes Lucian pushed his training wheels around to where they weren't touching the road anymore, then took off. He rides like he's been doing it for years. That is so him! It was that way with walking, and potty training, and well just about everything. I'm so proud of him.

20/365 Rocky
We pulled into the Red Barn BBQ and Lucian yelled out "Oh, park in the rocks! I need to find Rocky!" so Vaughn pulled around to the side of the building and into a spot. Lucian was now calling "Rocky! Where are you Rocky?! I am looking for you!" and as soon as we were parked he was out and scouring the ground until he triumphtly lifted one of the rocks and said with glee "Rocky!!" Rocky proceeded to go into the restaurant with us, and even went to the bathroom when Lucian did.
This is not the first Rocky, they usually end up in one of the flower beds. He puts them together so they won't be lonely. Others are put down along the way and forgotten.
All too soon he'll forget about this, or feel to old to indulge, and there will be no more Rocky Rocks to come live with us. I really do hope it's not too soon.

Playing Catch-up 15-19/365
19/365 Today my "OMG, this can't be real. Me, pregnant?!" miracle baby turned 6.

18/365 25 years of marriage today! We stopped at a park to let the kids run around and squirrels kept jumping on the van. It was a bit unsettling to hear their little claws as they moved around the outside of the vehicle, yet we couldn't stop laughing.

17/365 The fun of our weekend away is over.

16/365 Part of the fun of going somewhere new is eating new places and trying something different. This is an eggplant crab cake sandwich with shrimp over pasta from the Magnolia Blossom Cafe in Robertsdale, AL. Not bad!

15/365 This is the day we headed off for some much deserved us time. Before the trip could start I wanted a clean car, which meant a trip to Ronny's

11/365 Whims
We are big on whims, our plans often falling by the way as we follow our ideas off in whatever direction is demanded. We have the most fun this way, and sometimes find the neatest places/things. Other times fanciful ideas lead to half done projects that sit waiting for our responsible selves to return. This single strand of party lanterns, which hangs under the patio awning, was put in place on a whim and there it remains, waiting for us to either add to or remove completely. Today it made the perfect day 11 shot.

10/365 Lazy Sunday Afternoon
I was thinking how uninspired I felt then I decided I liked the light coming in the room. Instead of grabbing my good camera and actually trying, I went with the point and shoot sitting on my desk. Didn't love the results, still don't, but after playing with it for a while this will do. I like the image for today since we've all spent most of afternoon doing the equivalent of curling up in a chair and vegging.
That's Princess barely noticeable in the chair, the sweetie who adopted us not too long after we moved in. Lately she has been sleeping the day away vampire-like, rising once the sun has set, then insisting on going out despite the below freezing temps. Morning comes and she returns, sometimes leaving one of her victims at the front door as she struts in to claim her resting spot.

A Picture a Day - A 365 Project
I'm a little late into the year to be starting this, but here I go. I have been taking shots daily, so there is at least that. Picking just one for each day will probably be impossible for me, so consider yourself warned there may occasionally be more. Today is definitely one of those days, as I play catch-up.
